Since delivery really could be any day now, we wanted to give everyone directions to the hospital of the easiest way to get there. GPS will probably take you another way, but we found this to be the easiest, most direct, least amount of lights, etc route. The hospital is St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT. The address is 114. Woodland St. Hartford, CT. The best way to get there is as follows:
From 84 West
Take Exit 48 off of 84
Take an immediate right when you get off the ramp (You will see a Blue H sign for the Hospital).
Go straight through the first light at intersection.
At second light, take a left onto Collins street.
Stay straight passing through 2 sets of lights.
At next stop sign go through intersection and entrance to parking garage is on the left.
Enter parking garage and follow signs to the 2nd floor.
(The parking garage can be confusing, so just pay attention to oneway and do not enter signs)
The best place to park is the second floor as this is the main entrance of the hospital.
If you park on any other floor, you can enter on that floor and take the stairs or elevator to the 2nd Floor.
Once you are on the 2nd Floor, follow the hallway all the way down to the information desk.
At the information desk, take a right and you will see a set of elevators (blue elevators).
Take these elevators to the 4th Floor.
Once on 4th Floor, follow hall down to end to Maternity.
(Not to be confused with the New Beginnings Labor and Delivery entrance right off the elevators)
Once you get to the Maternity Ward, there is a phone that you pick up to call the nursing desk.
Tell them you are there to see us and they will let you in!
A couple of things that we would like everyone to keep in mind. We are going to do our best to keep everyone in the loop when I go into labor. Depending on the time and date, we may not want visitors until the following day, if I deliver later in the afternoon or evening. We will let you know how we are feeling once that time comes, but we are certainly excited to have anyone who wants to come meet the baby come visit at the hospital. We are also going to do our best to notify everyone once the baby is here, but please realize there will be a lot going on! We may delegate the task of announcing arrival to our parents if we are a bit overwhelmed. It's hard to believe how quickly time has gone by and that we will be holding our little nugget so very soon! Fingers crossed for a quick and easy delivery :) See you all soon!
