Let's just say the first night home was rough. Addison had to work the next morning at 5:00am, so night duty was left to me. Kinley was put to bed in her own room in her cradle. The cradle is one my dad built over 30 years ago. It was passed down through the grandchildren and now is being passed through the next generation! Kinley was fed and went right to sleep. She looked so cozy in her little cradle all swaddled up. She officially went to bed at 10:00pm. At 11:00pm she woke up. I knew she wasn't hungry, so I just rocked her back to sleep. She went right back to bed! I fell back asleep and then she cried again. I woke up and it was only 11:09! I rocked her again and put her back down. Needless to say this pattern continued for the next two hours. At 1:00am I decided to just hold her and let her sleep. I stayed in her room rocking her. By 3:30am I decided to move downstairs so I could at least watch TV. I would try to put her down on the couch next to me, but without fail she would wake up every time. At 5:30am I decided to corner myself on the couch with the boppy on my lap, hold her, and just let my head go back and take a little nap myself. By 7:00am I was awake for the day. I was very discouraged and nervous that this was how my nights were going to be. A good friend called me that morning to see how the night had gone. She recently had a baby and knows how rough that first night can be. She assured me that the next night would be much better. Thankfully..she was right!! Here are a few photos of Kinley's first night home!
