One Month!

Today our little princess is one month old!! We just can't believe how quickly the time has gone. In the past month we have learned so much, cherished every moment with our daughter, and have completely fallen in love with our new role as parents. We finally feel like we know what we are doing and are staring to learn what her cries mean.

Kinley had her 1 month check-up today. Even her doctor commented on how "she is a different baby" because of how much she has grown and changed since she saw her just 2 weeks ago. Kinley weighed 9 pounds 6.5 ounces today. The doctor did not check her length, but Addison and I did..she was 21 inches long. She is now in the 50th percentile for weight (up from 25th percentile). She passed all of her other vision, muscle, and cognitive testing during her visit.

Daddy got to spend a little time at home with us today to celebrate her 1 month birthday. He was able to come to the doctor's with us, but his favorite part of the day was being able to feed Kinley for the very first time. We gave her a bottle for the first time. She was really sure about it, but did manage to drink about an ounce. We think with a little more practice each day, she will be taking the bottle like a champ in no time.

Mommy's favorite moment of Kinley's 1 month birthday...her cooing and the little smiles she was able to catch today while Kinley was awake. She still spends a large majority of her time sleeping and smiles a lot in her sleep...but it melted my heart when she smiled for me while she was awake. I am certainly looking forward to many more smiles in the future :)
