Savela Family Scoop: 12 Weeks!

And we have reached 12 weeks..which only means one thing..it is Mommy's last full week of maternity leave. We started the week finishing up our visit to the Cape. It's hard to believe we probably had our last beach day for the season. We were able to go to a nice little private beach. There were only a few other people, so it was kinda like having our own little paradise. The water was a bit rocky, but of course Kinley still got to dip her feet in the water. We also got to watch a kite sailor for the first time form start to finish. It was amazing how quickly he was able to make it so far.

It was a pretty low key week for us. We were just trying to enjoy our last week together. We took lots of walks, spent a little time at the pool, and visited Daddy at the gym. Kinley got to practice her squats with Daddy and she sure is getting good at them. She absolutely loves to be outside and is really observant with birds flying by and trees blowing in the wind. She loves the water too, but really enjoys taking naps outside in her rocker seat.

Kinley has really started to chew on her hands and drool a lot. It is still a little early for teething, but she definitely just likes to chew on her fingers. She does not like a pacifier, probably because for 9 months she heard me say, "My baby will not become dependent on a pacifier"! She still loves to be held for naps or in her swing. She does not nap for long if she is put down in her pack 'n play or crib. She also wakes up really easily from naps with noise around her, but at night she can sleep through anything!

Since Kinley was born, I have put her to bed every night. She has always nursed to sleep, except for the occasional time she finished nursing, but wasn't fully asleep yet. On Friday, one of Mommy's best friends had tickets to the USA Visa Gold Gymnastics Championships. Mommy, Auntie Katty, and Auntie Healy all took a girl's night out and left Daddy with baby duty. He did an amazing job with her considering he was basically thrown into the task. He even gave her a bath before bed. She drank a bottle and went right to sleep. Mommy was nervous, but was very impressed by both Daddy and Kinley. It was nice to have a night out even though it was tough to leave my baby. It was good prep for having to leave her starting next week though. And good prep for Daddy to start taking care of her two days a week!
