14 Weeks!

Kinley started out the week with her 3 Month Birthday! Coincidentally, it was also Uncle Cam's graduation from Wentworth. Kinley got to take her first trip to Boston. It was perfect weather for the graduation, nice and sunny. The graduation lasted a little longer than we expected, but overall Kinley handled it very well. She loves spending time with her family!

This was Kinley's first full week of daycare. There is definitely an adjustment period for me, her, and her teachers. It certainly is not easy dropping your child off with people you barely know for them to care for her for over 10 hours per day. I thought the adjustment would be harder on me and her, but it seems like the biggest adjustment is on her teachers. I know it takes some getting used to with how each child acts and the specific needs and schedule of each child. However, I've had just a few concerns this week with her care. At home she typically eats at least every 2 hours, once in a while if she is sleeping she might make it to 2.5 without eating. She gets a diaper change before every feeding and more often if we know she has a dirty diaper. There were times when she was going almost 4 hours without a diaper change or feeding. I have addressed the issues with her teacher and hopefully they work themselves out as they adjust to each other. She is not sleeping well at daycare, which does not surprise me because of all of the commotion that goes on around her.

She had her first full day with Daddy at home on Tuesday. I think it is really good for the two of them to have that bonding time together. Especially since they normally don't see each other Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday because Daddy leaves for work before Kinley wakes up and gets home after she goes to bed. It makes me feel a little better knowing that Kinley is only at school 3 days a week. It is also nice that during any breaks I get I can FaceTime them and still see my baby. I was super lucky this week because they came to visit me during the day and I got to show Kinley off to my coworkers.

We got to spend the end of the week traveling to the Cape for Labor Day weekend! We certainly didn't have the best weather, so no beach for us..but we had such a great time. We got to spend a lot of time with family and just relaxing. A lot of what we needed after a couple stressful weeks heading back to work and everything. Kinley got to meet Uncle Chunky and his kids, Aunt Deb, Aunt Pam, Uncle Mike and his kids, Renaldo and Ari, and Uncle Skinny. She also got to visit with Papa, Uncle Shawn, Uncle Cam, Auntie Jade, Auntie Lisa, and Uncle Stefan, Ricky, Mario, and Nana. We always have a great time when we go to the Cape and this was no exception!

Kinley is becoming very vocal. She coos non-stop and tries soooo hard to get her little sounds out like she is really trying to tell you something. She has always had good head control, but it is finally to a point that I think she can tolerate sitting in the stroller without her carseat and in her bumbo seat. The bumbo is a little foam seat that allows babies to sit up without being able to sit fully on their own. She seemed to like sitting in it for the first time, but for now she only tolerates it in small bouts. She likes it because she can look around and see everything that is going on around her. She much prefers to stand rather than sit, so I think it will be good to get her used to the sitting position. She also has been a little better in the car, as long as her lullabies are on. Although, we really do try to time our trips to when she would most likely nap or sleep anyway! One of my favorite moments with Kinley is when she is in her tub. She just comes alive in the water and she really plays with her rubber ducky. She uses her feet to "kick the duck, but really it's the only way she knows how to touch it. She doesn't know how to reach for it with her hands and since it floats all around her tub she just keeps trying to get it with her feet.

Happy 3 Months!
