Savela Family Scoop: Six Weeks!

Wow is time flying. Kinley is a month and a half already!! To start the week, the three of us tried to go for a little family walk on a trail by the river that Addison and I enjoy spending time at. We got there and instantly knew it was going to be buggy, so we decided to go get some bug spray. We went back and sprayed down ourselves and Kinley's stroller. We kept her in the stroller with the canopies up so bugs couldn't get in. Kinley was sleeping, so this worked well. Unfortunately the bug spay really didn't help and ultimately the bugs ruined our walk. We only were able to stay for a very short time, but hopefully we will make it back there someday soon.
We had a very busy week getting ready to celebrate America's Birthday! The beginning of the week took a lot of planning to have everything we needed washed and ready to go. It's incredible how much stuff you need to bring for a child the size of my forearm! Kinley is starting to really want to be held all of the time. I love the snuggles and I know I won't be able to hold her forever, but she is starting to wake up every time I try to put her down while she is napping. I try to lay her down in all different locations, but for some reason she does not stay asleep. Every so often I am able to get her to stay asleep if I put her in her swing, but I try not to use it for sleeping every time she needs a nap!

We got to take a nice little vacation to Cape Cod for a visit with Addison's family. We got to visit with the Driscoll's and the Burns' as well. Kinley got to meet Uncle Steve on his quick trip home from the Marines. We also got to visit with the Lauder family for a little bit, because Auntie Katty was down at her family's house for the weekend too! Kinley also took her first trip to the beach! Kinley, Mommy, Daddy, Papa, and Uncle Shawn all went to the beach for the afternoon. Kinley slept through most of her visit and the water was a bit too cold for her to go swimming. Maybe next time!
